The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is a day commemorated in Canada on each December 6. It is the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which one armed male student murdered fourteen women and injured ten others in the name of “fighting feminism.”
Today, we say respectively remember names of each victim, and intentionally leave the shooter unnamed.
